MATTER Hosts Final CIMposium of 2014/2015 Series

The fourth and last of the 2014/2015 CIMposia series took place on June 24th at MATTER. Like the previous CIMposia, this meeting focused on regulatory issues.

The program began with a warm welcome from Steve Collens, CEO of MATTER (below left), and a few words from Katie Stallcup, Executive Director of the Chicago Biomedical Consortium.

Presentations started off with a comprehensive overview of regulatory development from George Allen Hides, managing partner at Geis-Hides Consulting LLC.  Richard D. Newman, the founder of RnD Services, LLC, followed with a presentation on mobile-digital health apps / health information systems and when FDA clearance / approval is needed.

Next, Jerzy Wojcik, Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at EdgeOne Medical Inc, spoke on the considerations when developing in vitro diagnostics / companion diagnostics.  Last but not least, Lilli Zakarija, Co-Founder and President of EdgeOne Medical Inc, discussed developing combination products including drugs-biologics / devices.

Steve Gould, Interim Executive Director of CIM (below right), thanked MATTER for hosting the event, the CTSA’s for their continued support, and everyone who participated in this last CIMposium.  Special thanks were extended to the Chicago Biomedical Consortium for funding this very successful CIMposia series.
